vlog: A video log . A journalistic video documentation on the web of a person’s life, thoughts, opinions, and interests.
Since a few years I really enjoy taking little video clips and putting them together as short films.
I never really thought of making them public but when I was heading for South Africa, sitting in the airplane and filming our take-off I had the idea of sharing my films on YouTube. YouTube is such a nice opportunity, because your videos can reach people all around the world. Another positive aspect is that everyone can have access to these videos because you don’t have to sign in for watching. So my family and friends can always have a look at my channel and stay updated about things I am doing here. In the past few weeks I took videos of my first trips to Port Elizabeth, Hamburg or Port Alfred. In the future I want to do more videos for instance about a day at work, a day in Grahamstown and of course some other trips I am planning to do.
Besides for my own I am also filming some videos for awarenet. There are already some videos up on Facebook for instance about the teachers’ course or our coding course. It’s great to show others what we are doing.
The reason why I enjoy filming and editing is that you have the chance to be really creative with using effects or transitions and give a special note to your videos.
