awarenet and partners received awards for community engagement at the 2018 Rhodes University Community Engagement Awards!

Sudo Soc, the computer society at Rhodes University, were among three finalists for Rhodes Society/Sports Club of the Year for their work with installing the new awarenet Learning Lab. Richard Were received the award from Rhodes University vice-chancellor Dr Sizwe Mabizela on behalf of Sudo Soc.

Project coordinator Kjetil Torp also received a Volunteer Managers Award for his effort in managing the Rhodes University student volunteers who conduct weekly support sessions with awarenet high school learners.
