A new volunteer to assist during awareNet sessions

Terri-Lynn Penney, the VSA’s community coordinator, was approached by Rooi Rikhotso, who is interested to voluntarily assist during awareNet sessions at Grahamstown schools.

He comes from Limpopo and lives in Joza now, is married, has children and works for HiTech Security. He says about himself: ” I am interested to work with kids, the youth and old people. I am not a moody person, but cooperate in the community and speak a lot of languages. I was volunteering at Love Life Generation and teaching the youth how to live a healthy life, teaching them how to play frisby games, soccer and acting scenes in community halls. I was also running for a local club Litaba Road Runners. I like to follow my program of whatever I am preparing. I don’t want to be selfish, but I like to handout what I know to the community members who are interested. So, I like to share my little knowledge with other community members, which is what makes an honest person in the community. Peer pressure is something that can not take part in my life.”

We have the feeling that he will assist Terri Penney well and will make a good contribution to our network of teachers and trainers. We would like to thank him very much for his motivation and engagement! We are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration and future projects.
