This weekend, Terri, Antje and Rieke will be in East London for a very special fundraising campaign:
As you know, Terri-Lynn Penney is Head Community Coordinator, awarenet Trainer and Trustee of the Village Scribe Association in Grahamstown. She will race the Ironman 70.3 to support the awarenet Peace Day Project. Antje and Rieke will inform about the fundraising campaign and collect funds.
What is the awarenet Peace Project?
More than 50 underprivileged learners in Joza-Grahamstown participate in the Peace Project every year: They learn how to use computers and the Internet while writing their own songs about peace. They use awarenet and are trained in song writing and performance by professionals of the community. They present their songs live on stage at Peace Day. Ntaba Maria Primary School became first this year and won a music clip, which was sponsored by Rhodes University and eKhaya ICT. We are in the process of producing music CDs for everyone who participated.
Support us so that this programme can be continued and more learners can learn how to use computers and the Internet, learn how to work in teams and achieve a goal. Donate today!
