Hi everyone,
my name is Paula and I will arrive in Makhanda in August to support the team of the Village Scribe Association for one year. This year I graduated school and after that I would like to explore the world and to learn more about a different culture before I start my studies (maybe veterinary medicine). I spent my whole childhood in Ilmenau, a small town in the middle part of Germany, and now it is time to see the other “end” of the world.
I applied for a voluntary year because different countries and cultures have always appealed to me and I like it to find new challenges. The topic of education is very important for me, because I studied six years in a special class for pupils who are particularly interested in mathematics and sciences and I really enjoyed going to school. I hope that I can share my experiences with other kids in South Africa. In my free time I do sports like playing volleyball, badminton or dancing nearly all the time and I like it to share my life on social media accounts especially on Instagram.
I am excited to work together with the whole team of awarenet and I am looking forward to a hopefully great and successful time in South Africa.
