The VSA has found a great, reliable and effective partner for it’s awarenet programme with underprivileged learners over the years: Rhodes University in Grahamstown. This year, we are extremely lucky and proud to be able to say that no less than three Departments support awarenet’s current peace and music project.
The Department of Journalism and Media Studies offered to let their third years create documentaries about the awarenet programme and awarenet users. They will also film the Peace Day Concert. The Department of Music and Musicology offered to record all participants of the music project after the concert to give us a chance to produce a good quality CD. And Rhodes University’s Community Engagement organised volunteers who assist our coordinators during the project.
We are very happy to have such a strong and interested partner in our network and value the work for what it is: true community work and effective involvement with a real impact. We wholeheartedly say Thank You!
Please, also see the news about the concert in the local newspaper Grocott’s Mail:
