#GivingTuesday

This week was #‎GivingTuesday‬ and we wanted to give thanks. We are grateful for all that we have achieved over the years and wanted to give back to the community. #GivingTuesday is a global movement that kicks off the charitable season and unites the world for good. Anyone, anywhere, can make a difference. We decided to celebrate generosity and decided to be part of the movement:

Over the past few weeks we have been working on a very creative project and due to Nelson Mandela’s death in December, this project was Mandela related. In remembrance of him and the beautiful batik silk shirts he used to wear, we designed our own Madiba shirts with the learners. We ended the term with a little fashion show on the 12th of November where the learners presented their shirts and decided to donate the shirts to the nearby orphanage “Home of Joy” that we have worked with before for the International Day of Peace. We could not be happier about the outcome of this term’s project and we put all our creativity and lots of effort into it to make it a great experience for all of us.
