Last year in December, one of our two German volunteers, Kim Niemann, decided to leave the VSA to continue his voluntary service at Cape Mental Health in Cape Town. Read more about his reasons to leave Grahamstown here on our blog.
Even though we are one person short now, we will still be able to follow up on and realise the plans we had already made for the new year. Our ever helpful intern Mcvay Boko will take over some of Kim’s tasks and support and work with our remaining volunteer Larissa as much as possible. They are a great team and already make up the board of the Joza Youth Hub as secretary and chairperson. Therefore, we are happy to announce that since we do not have to pay the initial 2000€ for Kim’s stay, we were able to renew Mcvay’s contract for the upcoming year.
